About

Anmol Makkar is a writer and an independent scholar who writes extensively on society, psychology, philosophy and spirituality. With an academic background in humanities and political science, her writing style is influenced by observational and reflective psyche of human condition, places and things. Having lived life witnessing most of its magnificent flavours uptil now, she firmly believes in the practice of turning inwards to look for answers for most of the existential questions of life. According to her, all of us carry within ourselves the inherent truth which is our dharma to get assimilated with, in this lifetime. Her mantra for life is, “Be detached even in your attachments”. She follows the ‘3S Strategy’ to achieve the same, i.e silence, self-reflection and solitude. However, the key is to adopt a balanced approach, maintaining balance between a detached observer and assimilated absorber in the temporary world of existence.

In this blog, you can find the write-ups surrounding events, patterns and practices adopted by human beings and the society, perceived under the lens of the Buddhist Philosophy, Non-duality(Advaita), Absurdism, practice of self-inquiry and Tantra on one side along with the humanistic and feminist discourse on the other.

Just a heads up, as all of us are products of our experiences, you can notice some minor discrepancies and conflict of thought between older and newer writings. The thoughts put down are limited to the intellectual evolution, understanding and the analytical capacity of the author at the given time and space when the article was published.
